I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's boxing match.
Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, consistently making substantial paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really proceeding.
